Migrating Swainson's

Hello,
 Maybe of interest, maybe not.
 I stepped into my back yard this evening(7:30) and found a large kettle of 
gulls (at least 60) swirling in circles in a thermal.  They circled my way 
until they were right over my head.  I looked through all off them and found 
a Swainson's Hawk.  He circled round and round and then broke away and 
headed north without ever flapping a wing.
 This was my firt Swanson's of the year.
