Dear All,
We knew that something was up in the air for the last year or two with an
original video tape recorded somewhere in the South and attributed to the
bird. Nevertheless, in the world of birding, nothing else can top this news.
I lived five years in South Georgia and dreamed many times to see one by the
Appalachicola River or Okefenokee swamps.
The following is my opinion,
All birders should pledge not to go there. I think there is no 'lifer list'
for this species. It was off your radar screen, anyhow. Do not make the job
of the state, federal agencies and Nature Conservancy more difficult that
what it is! Give it a few years!
Respectfully,
Dominique Roche
