BLACK SCOTER still at AIC

The Great Salt Lake Audubon Hot Spots field trip today, featuring 7 GSLA
folks and myself, was able to relocate the female BLACK SCOTER at AIC on
the south (or West) side of the Causeway 1/2 mile north of the Marina.
The bird was missed on the first pass by but spotted on the way back
out.

Other good finds included 2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, AMERICAN TREE SPARROW's,
1 Hooded Merganser, and a plethora of other ducks at Farmington Bay

NO HOODED MERGANSERS AT KAYSVILLE PONDS... NONE.

Also seen along the Causeway were 1 Bonaparte's Gull loafing to the
south. 18 Tundra Swan's (good eyes Sylvia!)about 3/4 of a mile north of
the causeway near MM4, a Chukar at the Visitor Center, 2 Barn Owls
(Thank you Deedee for looking a little harder) at the Bison Coral's and
many many many American Kestrel's, including one impersonating a Prairie
Falcon (maybe I need to get my eyes checked) for about 8 seconds as it
flew by the side of the car....

I think that about covers it for the day... Everything seems to be
moving a little slowly, or at least no where near the speed of last
fall.

GOOD BIRDING
