Hi,
Thanks to the Summerfelds for the heads up on a Townsend's Warbler at Garr
Ranch and to the several that mentioned the Nashville Warblers there. Got both
of them today. I get to check two off of my most wanted list already
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bob Huntington, Bob McDougal and I went to AIC and Bear River today. Did not
see much at Bear River. We did see what must be a juvenile Swainson's Hawk
that was very red. Got our attention for a while. We got a couple of
Solitary Sandpipers at the marsh north of Willard Bay that is across from the pond.
We looked through a lot of Black-bellied Plovers and had one that looked like
an American Golden Plover, but before we could get the spotting scopes out a
helicopter flew low over us and the little flock left. Must be a sign that we
need to go back.
The Whimbrel is still between mile 1 and 2. We also saw the all white small
gull that the Summerfelds saw and got some photos of it. I haven't checked the
pics yet though.
