Today at about 4:00 pm I went by Red Hills G C in St. George and there was a
female Vermilion Flycatcher. It was in the area S W of the pond, the Common
Moorhen was also still there.
On Wednesday and again on Thursday at Baker Res. there was a Horned Grebe. We
are getting quite a few of the early migrants coming through in the last
week as well, just common birds but after looking at the same birds for a few
months it's nice to see something different arriving.
The best sighting I had today was just before sunset along the Virgin river
below I 15 I watched a Merlin unsuccessfully trying to catch a Bat. It made
three attempts but just missed each time, very exciting to watch.
Should be a great weekend to be out, good birding everyone,
Larry
