BEAVER COUNTY

The immature RED-THROATED LOON, which was first seen at Minersville Reservoir on 11/27, was
still present at least through Saturday, 12/01 (RF,SS,KW).

BOX ELDER COUNTY

A late NASHVILLE WARBLER  was seen at the campground at Willard Bay SP on Wednesday, 11/28 (C&MS,v.o.).

CACHE COUNTY

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was reported to be visiting a feeder on Nibley Hollow Road, northeast of
Hyrum, at least through Sunday, 12/09 (BD).

DAVIS COUNTY

A basic-plumage adult LITTLE GULL was seen along the AIC on Thursday, 12/13 at about 10 am at MM
3 on the south side (TS). It was seen and photographed later in the day at various points
between MM 1 and MM 3, again on the south side (BB,MS,DW,LW). This is the second record of
Little Gull in Utah.

A first-winter MEW GULL was also seen along the AIC on Thursday, 12/13 (BB,TS,MS,DW,LW). It was
on the south side of the causeway just west of MM 3.

A female BLACK SCOTER was seen on the north side at the first culvert along the AIC on Thursday,
12/13 (MS,DW,LW).

Other birds seen along the AIC on Thursday, 12/13, included a female LONG-TAILED DUCK, seen on
the south side at the first culvert, and two LEAST SANDPIPERS seen on the mudflats to the north
of the causeway near the east end (MS,DW,LW).

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was reported to be visiting a feeder in Layton on Saturday, 12/01 (WS). 

GRAND COUNTY

HOODED MERGANSERS have been seen on the Colorado River near Moab. Four were seen about 5 miles
northeast of U.S. 191 on Monday, 12/03 (BBr), and two males and two females were seen near the
Matheson Wetlands Preserve on Tuesday, 12/04 and a single bird was also near the Matheson
Wetlands on Wednesday, 12/05 (DF).

Lone GREAT EGRETS were reported along the Colorado River near Moab on Monday, 12/03 (BBr), and
on Wednesday, 12/05 and Monday, 12/10 (DF).

SALT LAKE COUNTY

PYGMY NUTHATCHES were seen in the northeast corner of Liberty Park in Salt Lake City on Monday,
12/03 (JVM). They were seen again in the same area on Saturday, 12/08 (MS,v.o.). Also in the
park on Saturday, 12/08 was a RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER, near the center of the park (MS,v.o.).

At the Salt Lake City Cemetery, a JUNIPER TITMOUSE was seen on Monday, 12/03 (JVM).

A HORNED GREBE was seen on Warm Springs Lake on Saturday, 12/08 (MS,v.o.). Warm Springs Lake is
located just west of I-15 at the 2300 North exit in Salt Lake City.

UTAH COUNTY

Eight GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were reported from the shore of Utah Lake east of the American
Fork Marina on Sunday, 12/09 (KC,EH).

On Sunday, 12/02, 10 LEAST SANDPIPERS were seen on the Utah Lake shore west of West Mountain,
and a RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was seen at Warm Springs, near the south end of Utah Lake (KC,EH).

WASHINGTON COUNTY

A GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was seen in the campground at the Red Cliffs RA on Thursday, 11/29
(RF). The bird was at campsite #1. This is the same area where Golden-crowned Sparrows have been
seen for the past several winters.

Two PACIFIC LOONS continued to be seen at Quail Creek Reservoir, at least through Saturday,
12/01 (RF).
