Greetings
I visited Glover Pond and Farmington Bay today at 3:30-5:00pm. Glover =
pond was completely empty, not one bird. Despite hunters all around, =
there were alot of birds at Farm. Bay. There were the typical ducks, =
grebes, gulls, corvids, and blackbirds. Other highlights include:
Peregrine Falcon--mud flats at the end of the west dike road-- Farm. Bay
Dark morph Red-tail Hawk--Glover Lane
Greater Yellowlegs--Farm. Bay
Baird's Sandpiper--flock of 35+ on the rocks at the first bridge on the =
west dike road--Farm Bay
Western Sandpiper--within the flock of Baird's
Least Sandpipers--mud at the end of the dike road looking west
Tree Swallow--I found one among a flock of 1000+ Barn Swallows. They =
were perched on the ground west side of the dike road.
American Pipit
Savannah Sparrow--dike road
Lincoln's Sparrow--1 at Dike road, 1 at Glover lane near the water canal =
before the ponds.
Good birding
Tony Jones
