While attending the UOS conference this past wk-end I had the pleasure =
of formally meeting many local birders. It was nice to finally put =
faces with all those names that I've known.=20
Anyway, in the typical event of meeting people they always struggle with =
my name. A Latin name with a British pronunciation is a difficult one =
indeed. The method I use is association, "Le-TISH-a" as in dish or wish =
to make it easier. =20
Well, the ingenuity of birders never ceases to amaze me. And one such =
example of this is when I formally met Merrill Webb. In my attempt to =
help him with my name he came up with him own.
Le-tish-a as in "pish" for pishing!
Great, I can finally have a cool correlation with birding and this one I =
will continue to use when I introduce myself to fellow birders. :)
Thanks Merrill.
Letitia
Ps. It was a great conference. Good job!
