In the fields just north of Deer Creek Reservoir (just past the small =
state park at that end of the reservoir) in Charleston, I saw 70+ =
Sandhill cranes. Some were closer by the river that the road bridges =
but most were far out in the fields. I had my scope on a strange one - =
very reddish body - but in other respects looked like a Sandhill Crane. =
Anyone know why this one was so red?
good birding
