A word of caution

Jared's message reminded me of something that I have been meaning to post.
About a month ago, I was reading over the Nevada birdnet posts and came
across a message that brought up an important point. Apparently someone had
posted specific directions to a hawk's (I can't remember the exact species)
nest, which at the time seemed harmless. Within a day or two, someone
replied warning everyone on the listserv to never post the exact location of
a hawk's, etc. nest due to falconers that were "lurking" on the listserv. I
don't know if there are any falconers on this listserv, but it would
definitely not surprise me if there are. Please don't post the exact
location of hawks' nests, but rather post the general area that you saw the
birds in. This has not been a problem on this listserv, but I decided that
I should warn everyone before someone did it without knowing the
consequences. I certainly had no idea of the problem before reading the
Nevada message. Anyway...
THE BEST OF GOOD BIRDING!!!
