Matheson Preserve

Morning Milton,
Bird life is picking up at the Matheson Preserve. Recent migrants
include: double-crested cormorant, Wilson's phalarope, eared grebe,
green heron (although they may nest), and numerous neotrops. The
black-headed grosbeaks, lazuli buntings, yellow-breasted chats and
red-winged blackbirds are the dominant singers right now. Have also
observed indigo bunting, cedar waxwings, MacGillivray's warbler,
Wilson's warblers and many others.

Migratory Bird Day festival will be May 12th, Matheson Preserve main
entrance, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Thanks,
Damian Fagan
Field Ecologist
