A few interesting sightings from today (Sunday, May 6):
Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge-- A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen along the
east side of the auto tour loop, exactly 1.5 miles south of the restroom.
It was with a small group of Marbled Godwits on the west side of the
road. There were also a large number of Black Terns at the refuge.
Antelope Island Causeway-- A CURLEW SANDPIPER was seen with numerous
Sanderlings on the north side at about the 2 mile marker post. It was
not yet in full breeding plumage, but it was close enough to be
unmistakable. Also seen in the area were Western and Semipalmated
Sandpipers.
Also of note, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER was seen in West Ogden at about 2600
South on 5100 West. It was at a small pond on the west side of the road.
