I had to work this morning so I missed out on both the SL Birders and =
Utah County Birders excursions. But the day wasn't lost in that I made =
a trip out to the above wildlife management area. It was kind of nice =
having the whole place to my wife and myself and a few of our feathered =
friends!! Unfortunately the 2 roads(???-my Ford Escort did not like the =
mud, weeds, and rocks!!) that go into the area will be closed after =
March 1 through the end of August.
There were 2 meadowlarks singing to each other-- can spring be far off??
I saw several Song Sparrows,a White Crowned Sparrow, a couple of sparrow =
sp. that I could not ID, 2 male Common Mergansers (maybe looking for the =
4 females that I saw at Provo Airport Dike last week??), as well as =
Common Goldeneye, Geese (a couple hundred), Blue Herron, Canvasbacks, =
Northern Pintails, Mallards, Rough Leg Hawk and Red Tail Hawk.
Bruce
