I ran down to Elk Ridge this afternoon to Dennis
Shirleys house. The very first bird I saw as I went in
his backyard was the White-throated Sparrow. It was a
first for Utah County for me. Also at Dennis' feeder
there was a female Cassin's Finch. Been awhile since I
have seen a Cassin's. At the ponds in Salem on south
side of the main highway there was a Cinnamon Teal
amongst a lot of Common Goldeneye and Ring-necked
Ducks. I was able to go see the Lewis's Woodpecker in
Woodland Hills. At Evergreen Cemetery I saw 2 Juniper
Titmice and saw about a dozen Brown-headed cowbirds
near the Springville Wal-mart. I counted 28
Eurasion-collared Doves on River Lane and 8 Bald
Eagles. That is all for now. It was a beautiful day to
be out with the birds.
