Saturday Morning Bird Walk Volunteers

Birders, Just a quick note to those of you who are
interested in volunteering to lead one of the weekly
Saturday morning "bird walks" on the south end of BYU
Campus (Botany Pond area).

Reed Stone introduced this volunteer project at the
January Utah County Birders meeting. I don't have all
of the details yet on how it works, but it was an
event that the Monte L. Bean Museum sponsored in the
past. Dr. Doug Cox, director of the MLBM, wants to
restart it once again. Reed said our club would help
provide this service for the community in exchange for
the use of the Bean auditorium for free each month.
The Bird Walk will be advertised through the local
paper as well as at the Bean Museum.

So if you would like to spend a few pleasant hours on
a Saturday morning with the birds around BYU's South
Campus, please e-mail me and let me know. It should be
a lot of fun, but we won't start until the weather
gets a bit warmer. It's still too bitterly cold for
most folks to want to get out in it.

Anyway, thanks in advance and I look forward to
hearing from you,

Leena Rogers
