I wasn't going to post this, but decided too. I always thought that Carterville Road would be a good spot for birds. I walked from where 400 south in Orem drops down to Carterville road. I parked on the south part and headed north. I walked to the Center Street Overpass. Carterville is about 13th east in Orem. Just an estimate. Anyway with the ditch and all the trees and the hillside I figured for good birding. I ended up seeing 17 species of birds. I saw my first Black Headed Grobeaks for the year and a lot of Lazuli Bunting. What I was surprised by was the large number of empids along the walk. especially in the more open hillside. Most looked to be of the Dusky/Hammonds variety but could never tell for sure. Also Broad Tailed Hummingbirds were all over. It was a nice walk and might hold some potential. Has anyone ever birded there?? Well just thought I would pass it on.
