About an hour after Josh Heward reported the Varied Thrush at Salem
Pond, Lois Clark and I were on the spot trying to figure out where to
look. I ask Lois "if you were a Varied Thrush, where would you be."
She said "down low in that stuff over there," indicating the scrub oak
on the hill side. So I went around the corner so I could look back onto
the hill side and I saw it fly up into a small tree. Lois, the birder
queen does it again!
