Green Heron

We walked along the canal today hoping to see a Green Heron... we had a
very brief glimpse of it (or at least what looked like it could have been
a juvenile) as it flew over the walkway (flanked by magpies) and into some
dense trees on the other side.  We could hear some soft "kuk"ing from that
direction as well.

Other worthwhile sightings... pelicans and kingfishers.
