Hello,
This is not quite as exciting as Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, California
Condors, Acorn Woodpeckers, or Hermit Warblers, but just in case anyone is
planning on birding in Washington County this weekend, I thought I'd let
you'll know that there's been a Green Heron hanging around in the late
evenings at both the inflows into Quail Creek and Gunlock Reservoirs. Also
Inca Doves are still calling in the morning along the west end of 290 North
in the Canyon Ridge Housing Area, Hurricane. And if there's anyone else out
there (in addition to me) lamenting the absence of shorebirds and shorebird
habitat in the county this fall, there's hope as the northwest pond at the
SR-9 (Hurricane) Sewage Ponds is finally getting low enough to attract a few
shorebirds.
Best Regards,
Rick Fridell
Hurricane, UT
