Dear friends and members of Red Cliffs Audubon:
Following is our events calendar for the month of December.
Saturday, December 6. CONSERVATION PROJECT: Halfway wash clean-up. We
will be cleaning trash at Halfway Wash in St. George. Bring grubby clothes
and gloves. Refreshments will be provided! This wash is a unique riparian
corridor through town, used by many birds. It has a paved trail alongside
it, making it very accessable for people to enjoy, but has also seemed to
attract a lot of trash and garbage. We coordinated with the City of St.
George to be able to do this, and it is a good way to get out and make a
difference, giving back to nature for the holidays. Meet at the BLM at 9AM.
Wednesday, December 10. Red Cliffs Audubon general meeting, Tonaquint
Nature Center 7PM. Dave Boyd has worked with Eiders in Siberia, and will
share with us his experiences with that. Should be exciting, informative,
and make us glad we live in St. George. Everyone is invited.
Time again for Christmas Bird Counts!
Following are the dates for Christmas Bird Counts in the area. If you've
participated in these in the past, you already know that they're a good
excuse to get out and bird all day long, mingle with fellow birders, and at
the same time participate in a useful scientific study that has been
documenting wintering bird densities and movements for over 100 years now.
For those who haven't yet been, they're a lot of fun, and we could use your
help! Come join the tradition.
