Phainopepla

Yesterday while working just north (about 0.5 miles) of Baker Reservoir I
saw a male Phainopepla in the pinyon-juniper. I was tavelling on the dirt
back road that runs north from Baker to Central. The elevation was about
5000' so I was rather surprised to see a Phainopepla at that location.
They reportedly do feed on juniper berries and there were plenty of those
around.
