This last two weeks I have been up around Pine Valley, Pinto, Gunlock and
the Beaver Dam Slope. Some of the more noteworthy (perhaps) observations
include:
Yellow-headed Blackbird (Mountain Meadow)
Lewis's Woodpecker (Pinto, Central and at the divide on the road between
Pinto and Pine Valley twice).
Red Crossbill (small flock of 4-5 birds along the north shore of Pine Valley
Reservoir in the Ponderosa)
Red-breasted Nuthatch? (identified by call only)
Plumbeous Vireo (right below Gunlock Dam)
Phainopepla (road dropping into Lydle ranch)
White Faced Ibis (flock of about 8 birds on Riverside Drive near the Llama
field)
Scott's Oriole (Beaver Dam Slope)
Other species seen:
Yellow Warbler (Below Gunlock Dam)
Gambel's Quail (Beaver Dam Slope)
Western Bluebird (Pine Valley, Mountain Meadow and Pinto)
Ash-throated Flycatcher (Below Gunlock Dam and in Bloomington Hills)
Black-throated Hummingbird (Below Gunlock Dam)
Western Kingbirds (Many, many on the Beaver Dam Slope)
House Finches (Many, many on the Beaver Dam Slope)
Black-chinned Sparrow (Beaver Dam Slope)
Northern Mockingbird (Beaver Dam Slope)
Loggerhead Shrike (Beaver Dam Slope)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Kane Spring)
Western Meadowlark (Pine Valley & Mountain Meadow)
Brewer's Blackbird (Mountain Meadow)
Brown-headed Cowbird (Mountain Meadow)
Say's Phoebe (Pinto)
Stellar's Jay (Pine Valley and Pinto Canyon)
Spotted Towhee (Pine Valley, Mt. Meadow)
Green-tailed Towhee (Pine Valley)
Northern Rough-winged Swallow (Pine Valley)
Barn Swallow (Pinto)
Mountain Chickadee (Pine Valley)
Mountain Bluebird (Pine Valley)
American Robin (Pine Valley)
Broad-tailed Hummingbird (Pine Valley and Utah Hill)
Scrub Jay (Pinto Canyon)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (Pine Valley)
Downy Woodpecker (Pinto)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (Pine Valley)
White-throated Swift (Pine Valley)
Lesser Goldfinch (Central)
Chipping Sparrow (Baker Dam)
The following are common and everywhere and hardly worth mentioning:
