Hello,
This morning (6/29) I visited Kolob Reservoir (Washington County, UT). The
highlight was a Black Swift flying over the Reservoir. The timing is very
interesting.....perhaps a late migrant, or a foraging individual from an
unknown Southern Utah nesting locale?
I also saw several Lewis's Woodpeckers on the west side of Kolob Reservoir
(thanks to Judy Jordan!) including two pairs actively feeding young. One of
these nests was located in a cavity in an aspen right next to the road along
the west side of the lake.
Other interesting birds included:
two Caspian Terns
Western Grebe
Clark's Grebe
Redhead
Take care and enjoy the summer birds,
Rick Fridell
