RE: Lens advice and a test-->Thanks

I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice.  I am struggling to
make a decision.  It seems most of you all recommend against the
Quantaray lenses.

I am looking at this setup here:

022&cat2=914962 .  I have been needing a bag, and the price seems
reasonable, especially for two lenses.  I have also been wanting a
macro, as I enjoy taking flower shots.  .  .

However, it seems most of you recommend at least 500mm.  Is the 300mm
not going to be enough magnification for me?
