We enjoyed birding in the Uintas Memorial Day and found Sulphur Campground
quite fruitful with 15 species including red-naped sapsuckers,
white-breasted nuthatch, spotted sandpiper, Cassin's finch, ruby-crowned
kinglets, chipping & white-crowned sparrows, yellow-rumped warblers and
numerous Wilson's warblers. Suphur Campground is on the Mirror Lake
Highway a few miles past Mirror Lake. On the drive there we noted a
sandhill crane on a nest in the wetland area on the right soon after you
exit Route 40 going toward Kamas.
