Christmas Bird Count, Dec. 17.  Meet at this office at 7:30 am.  Dinosaur
N.M./Jensen CBC on Dec. 31.

Only a small corner of Sheppard Bottom has open water along with the River.
But the raptors have started moving in.  The following birds were seen
within the survey route:

Canada geese   2385
Snow goose   6
Greater white-fronted goose   1
Tundra swan   6
Mallard   1,571
Gadwall   68
American wigeon   2
Northern shoveler   62
Northern pintail   88
Green-winged teal   2
Redhead  2
Ring-necked duck   2
Common goldeneye   4
Common merganser   5
Coots    4
Great blue heron   7
Great egret   1
Sandhill crane   37
Killdeer   1
Ring-billed gull   6
Red-tailed hawk   5
Northern harrier   5
American kestrel   5
Bald eagle   13
Great horned owl   1
