Ouray National Wildlife Refuge General Waterbird Survey

Ouray National Wildlife Refuge
General Waterbird Survey
7/1/05

Many nests were flooded out with the high river flows. I am sure many
re-nested, but the grebes and coots took it all in stride. Abundant broods
of pied-billed grebes and coots. Young American avocets, killdeer,
double-crested cormorants, great blue herons, and great horned owl were
also seen.
