A very cold House finch which stayed on a feeder all by itself for more
than 15 minutes at 8:30 a.m. was the first bird for this year. When the
sun warmed things up there appeared throughout the day 1 Oregon Junco, 1
Brown creeper, many House finches, three Goldfinch, 1 Magpie, many House
sparrows, 30 California quail (which are still out there at 5:15pm), 3
scrub jays, 1 Robin and 3 Chickadees. I am wondering where my Downey
Woodpecker has been all day.
