Hi All,
Today about noon I found a CACKLING GOOSE at the mouth of the Provo River at the Utah Lake State Park. It was in a flock of 50 or so Canada's. I think it was B. c. minimus, due to it's extremely small size, short neck, small stubby bill, and lack of any neck collar. I guess it could have been B. c. hutchinsinii but either way it was a "little honker". Kind of a back-door way of getting a new Big Year bird, but at this stage in the game you take whatever you can get.
Greetings, Dennis Shirley
