Pomera and I birded Antelope Island yesterday. Hundreds of Sanderlings
along the causeway. At the ranch, things started out very slowly--as
in dead! About 11 or so things began to pick up. we found the
Northern Waterthrush along the creek in the lower branches of a Russian
Olive on the north side of the stream near the red shed. We were
looking diagonally across the stream from the area that used to have
the big log to sit on. We also saw Western Tanager, Black-headed
Grosbeak, Green-tailed Towhee, Bullock's Oriole. We saw a Grasshopper
Sparrow in the usual location about .5 mile north of the ranch as you
head out.
Good birding y'all,
Julie Van Moorhem
