This morning, May 9, in Zion National Park we saw a Common Black-Hawk and
the Painted Redstart. Both were on the Riverside walk at the north end
of Zion Canyon. The Black-Hawk was perched halfway between the start of
the walk and the "Weeping Wall" area on the trail. The Redstart was
singing from a bush halfway up the east side of the canyon, at the
"Weeping Wall" area.
Saturday, near mile marker 25 on highway 89 (Vermillion Cliffs area, east
of Kanab), we spotted a California Condor perched in the canyon rocks.
It was sporting ID #80.
