Hawk Owl: Yippee!

A bunch of us got to savor the Northern Hawk Owl today, Saturday, near
Ketchum, Idaho.  What a stunning bird!  Thanks to all who posted updates and
helped with directions this week.  

The only sad note on an otherwise perfect sighting, was the report received
up there that a Utah birder or photographer who was there on Friday
(yesterday), reportedly tried to throw snow at the owl to enhance the taking
of a photograph.  If this report is correct, shame on the person who would
be so unethical.  The birding community ought to be able to enjoy a
sighting, such as this, without anyone harassing the bird in any way.
