Black Terns - Farmington Bay

Fri June 20 ~ 645am
6 Black Terns observed with several Forester's at Farmington Bay Wildlife Management Area in the south west corner of Unit 1.  From the WMA north entrance follow the road to Goose Egg Island.  The access beyond this point is restricted to foot and bike traffic so if you are interested in seeing these birds you'll have to hike.  Walk south along the dike until you come to the parking area and boat ramp.  The birds were foraging near the gates that divide Units 1 and 2.  All traffic is restricted beyond these gates so make sure to obey the signage!

"A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability, and
beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise."
