I went up to Alta today to try and find the Rosy-finches. There were two
gray-crowned and one black, lots of sisking and mountain chicadees, a few
cassin's got some good pictures. I met Bill Hunt up there and he showed me
some mountain goats at the mouth of the canyon. Then I went up to Solitute
couldn't find the grosbeaks but its was fun none the less.
Then when I returned to work in the afternoon and was observing the pair of
kestrels that nest there. The male flew down from the tree and got a mouse
as he was eating on a power pole near by, the female flew to him and took his
mouse away to the nest. I really regret not having my camera for that.
Great day to be out.
Good birding
