back in January, I passed along a report from another Basin birder re. what appeared to be a female redstart, based on remains left after a bird-car collision.  For those of you who may have thought "hmmm, I bet it was a siskin" - you were right.  My friend recently brought a wing ( the only part she was able to salvage from the cats) over to show me, and pine siskin would certainly be my guess. 

 

My apologies, and I will try to vet any oddball sightings more carefully in the future!
