Greetings,
I've been studying nest-site selection by Common Black-Hawks (Buteogallus
anthracinus) in southwestern New Mexico and am comparing nests I observed
to those in other parts of their range.
I understand birders have known of a black-hawk nesting territory on the
Lytle Ranch (Washington County) for the past several years. I'm wondering
if anyone has taken any basic measurements of the nest or its surroundings
- i.e., nest height, tree diameter, tree height, distance to water, etc. -
and if they'd be willing to share this information with me.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
