Yesterday (Sat. 11
Jan.) the Washington City Eurasian Collared-Doves were seen again. Six or seven
were along 100 East at the south end just south of 400 South. This is the area
they seem to be hanging around the most lately. Up to 14 have been seen here.
Also ones first
found on the Cedar City CBC were seen again today (Sun. 12 Jan.) Six
were along Midvalley Rd. at around the fifth house west of the Minersville
Hwy. in Cedar Valley.
Eurasian
Collared-Doves seem to be increasing rapidly in the west. I learned yesterday
that flocks of 40-50 are being found around the Salton Sea in Southern
Calif. Please document all sightings of this species as it is most likely that
any seen anywhere are birds which are part of this rapidly expanding species
across North America.
