Went around the Provo Dike at noon today.
Long Eared Owl perched in dead tree on the last stretch going West before you
reach the Southwest corner. Owl was on south side about 100 yards from
where the last approach west begins. Said another way, if you were at the
Southwest corner and went east, owl was about 100 yds before you would turn
south. Very visible going westabut harder to see if you were going
east. Also of interest were 4 Chuckars legging it down the road as the
dike road begins on the airport side. Don't know whether they were
escapees or had been released, but it was fun to watch them run about 100 yards
down the road just in front of the car.
