Greetings!
I was curious about the report of the Red-throated Loon so I
went to check it out today. The only bird I saw was a Double-crested
Cormorant. I observed it in perching, swimming and flying
positions.
Just a note of caution. This pond is part of the
Riverton City Water Department substation and is completely fenced in.
Although you can see most of the pond by pulling off the Bangerter Highway
(which I don't recommend), the only access is through a gate which is locked
most of the time. I just happened to luck out and run into a nice city
employee who allowed me to enter the premises to check out the
bird.
