Dear Birders:

I have a male Blue Grouse in my backyard! This is a lifer for me; one that I have taken hikes looking for. I have taken a few photos and my husband is here to witness as well. He did a little display in the backyard fanning his tail, ruffling his feathers so we could see his reddish air sacs and walking around in a circle.

We live in a neighborhood and not in the woods. I am very surprised to see him here and glad he is safe from the hunters. Hope he sticks around!
