I found a hot spot near Stockton today. Got there at about 10:00 and there were birds everywhere in an old field. Many western kingbirds, many lark sparrows, chipping sparrows, several sparrows that I could not identify. A blue-gray gnatchatcher, a small flycatcher (gray?), sage thrasher, lazuli buntings, and finally a black-throated gray warbler (many)
I am going again in the morning and plan on getting there about 8:00 am.
