Two Whimbrels were mixed in with a flock of over 100 Marbled Godwits
along the Antelope Island Causeway today (4/28). They were on the south
side of the Causeway, between mile markers 5 and 6. Over 800 Western
Sandpipers were spread out along the length of both sides of the
Causeway. At mile marker 5 on the north side, a breeding plumaged Horned
Grebe was seen. Two Black-bellied Plovers were also in this area.
At Garr Ranch on Antelope Island were several Hermit Thrushes, Chipping
and Lark Sparrows, Lazuli Bunting and a Dusky Flycatcher.
At Henefer, off Exit 115 on I-84, three Great Egrets were in the Weber
River.
At Farmington Bay WMA, a Blue-winged Teal, Forster's Terns and Western
Kingbirds.
