Subject: Birds at Kolob Reservoir

Message: On Sunday, April 21, Christi Carmichael and I drove up to Kolob Reservoir along the Kolob Terrace Road, just outside of Zion National Park.  In less than two hours we saw 32 species.  Highlights included Baird's Sandpiper (1), Black-crowned Night Heron (1), Common Loon (9), Western Grebe (5), Marbled Godwit (59), Willet (35), Osprey (2), and over six species of aterfowl.  In April and early May Kolob Reservoir 
offers some of the best birding in the Zion Park area.

PS:  Rick Fridell notified me of the Painted Redstart last Friday.  Apologies for not forwarding it to our visitor center staff sooner.
