Greetings!

Bob Huntington, June Ryburn and I walked a portion of the Jordan River =
Parkway today and found a nice assortment of birds. You can park in the =
east end of the Mulligan's Golf Course lot (10600 South 700 West). Walk =
north on the trail to the first cluster of phragmites on the west side =
of the river. Distancewise I don't know how far it is, but you will be =
past the golf course property at this point. Also look for the rounded =
pine trees quite a distance from the river to the east. There is a =
little trail on the north end of the phragmites which will lead you =
right down to the water. On the east side of the river is an overgrowth =
of vegetation which seems to be quite a magnet for birds. In that small =
spot alone, we saw a Virginia Rail, Hermit Thrush, Marsh Wren, both =
kinds of Yellow-rumped Warblers and many more common birds. Be sure to =
watch for the Northern Pintail and Pied-billed Grebe on your way. =20
