WW Scoter still at Quail Creek, Wash Co.

Hello,
This morning (12/22) the White-winged Scoter and the Herring Gull were both
still at Quail Creek Reservoir. The scoter was first observed on 12/18.
Today the scoter was working its way along the east shore of the reservoir
directly opposite the boat docks. It has been 'hanging out' in the same
area near the gravel bar island (often covered with gulls including the
Herring Gull). Occasionally it is in the cove behind the small island,
where a scope is necessary for viewing.
Bill Hunter and Charlie Sheard also observed the scoter this morning south
of the boat ramp.
Today Bill also observed a couple very late Barn Swallows at Sun River south
of St. George.

Best wishes to everyone for a great Holiday season,

Rick Fridell
