Pacific Loon, Merlin

On Sunday, Oct. 21, Kathy and I found the juvenile Pacific Loon at Deer
Creek Reservoir (Wasatch Co.), in the southeast corner as previously
reported.  It was swimming, diving and preening in close proximity to a
Common Loon, making for a good comparison. 
Also on Sunday, we saw a female Merlin (Prairie race, as noted in Sibley)
on the Provo Airport dike road (Utah Co.), on the west side of the new
extension.
