Birders
My friend from Oregon Phil Kline and I went to Bear river and Garr ranch =
today. Best birds were Sanderlings along the causeway to Antelope =
island and a Winter Wren and Townsends Solitaire at the Garr Ranch. We =
met Barbara Watkins at Garr Ranch. Just as she left, the Winter wren =
poked its head out. (Sorry Barbara). It is right in front of the logs =
where people have been sitting in the grove of trees. We saw it and =
heard its call notes.
Interesting birds at both places:
Sage Sparrow--Bear river
Long-billed Curlews--Bear river
American Pipit--Bear river
Herring Gull--Bear River--at the southeast end where the last of water =
is. First of the fall for me.
Willet--Bear river

Least and Western Sandpipers--AICauseway
Sanderlings--AICauseway
Cassins Vireo--Garr ranch
Say's Phoebe--Garr ranch--north of bathrooms
Swainsons and Hermit Thrush--Garr Ranch
Dusky Flycatcher--Garr ranch
Yellow-breasted Chat--ranch
Orange-crowned, Wilsons and Macgillivrays Warblers--ranch
Sora--ranch
Townsend's Solitaire--ranch

Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs--Glover ponds
Marbled Godwit (3)--Glover ponds
