While attending a Family Gathering at Bryce National Park this week I was
amazed to see a Ringed Turtle Dove. I know there are escapees but strays
are also seen throughout the U.S. How to tell? I don't know but it was an
interesting bird to see in Utah. It flew into a Ponderosa about 10 feet
from me and stayed for 5 minutes before flying off. At least I have seen a
Ringed Turtle Dove in Utah that is not in a cage. My wife appreciated it
since I made her drive all the way into the middle of L.A. many years ago
to find my first.
