I had the opportunity to drive for a co-worker yesterday who hang =
glides. While he was setting up, I was able to do a little birding. =
Anyway, if anyone asks, Frisco Peak in Beaver County is not a hot bed of =
birding activity!! (Frisco Peak is about 10 miles NW of downtown =
Milford, elevation 9660'). The fact that I birded in the middle of the =
day (11:30 - 2:00) probably did not help at all.
I did get 11 new county species (OK, I admit it, before yesterday my =
Beaver County count was "0"), probably the best being White-Throated =
Swifts. =20
I also enjoyed watching the Turkey Vultures! (Have you ever looked DOWN =
on a soaring TV??) We also happened upon a TV that was eating a freshly =
road-killed antelope just west of Milford.
But, above all remember: "A slow day birding is better than a fast day =
at work!!!"
