Re: [birdnet] 2 American Goldfinches, one male and female in Weber Co.

Once again, the male let me get within 10 ft. of it perched in our young
maple tree. I got the call all wrong in my previous message but I'm not good
at spelling bird calls.
I was able to take a photo this time but since I only have the fixed lens
35mm Olympus Stylus Epic loaded with film, the bird will be tiny within the
photograph. If I'd only ordered that 500mm lens for my Nikon F100!
I've had several stellar views of this bird on the feeder with the mountain
range in the background. Truly outstanding photo opportunities gone.
Do most American Goldfinches allow people to get so close so quickly? I
walked toward my feeders as the normal collection of RW Blackbirds and Doves
where there with the GF. The Blackbirds flew off first then the Doves and
the GF just kept eating.

Cheers,

Ron
